October 24, 2025 — Morning light pierced the clouds and awakened the campus heartbeat. Expectation and excitement filled the air as students, faculty, and parents gathered to celebrateDingwen Academy Hangzhou’s 2025–26 Sports Day under the theme "Endless Dreams, Limitless Motion". This was more than a contest of speed and strength — it was a moving PE lesson and a vivid enactment of Dingwen’s ten spirit values: Dream, Passion, Inquiry, Critical Thinking, Innovation, Integrity, Empathy, Collaboration, Courage, and Responsibility.

The banners of the five houses — Venus, Jupiter, Mercury, Mars, and Saturn — fluttered in the breeze. Students in their bright house uniforms beamed with enthusiasm while teachers and parents looked on with eager anticipation. On this day, every member of the Dingwen international community came together in celebration of their love for sport.

I. A Procession of Dreams — A Brilliant Parade
Under a radiant autumn sky, the opening ceremony began amid the eager gazes of the whole school. Maggie Ye, Academic Principal, and Steven Gaynor, Academic Vice Principal (International), delivered remarks encouraging students to unleash their dreams and passions and to demonstrate Dingwen’s spirit on the field.
Amid cheers, the “Dream” themed parade took the stage. The ten grade contingents marched by in turn: Grade 1 set sail with dreams like shining stars; Grade 2 presented vigorous martial-arts forms, bravely pursuing distant stars; Grade 3 embodied “youth in pursuit of the stars,” showcasing team strength; Grade 4’s “Dream Train” departed from Dingwen toward the global stage; Grade 5 expressed passion through multi-sport performances, revealing a fighting spirit.

Grade 6 carried dreams into every offense and defense, exemplifying endless motion; Grade 7 demonstrated precision and teamwork in passing drills; Grade 8 burst with youthful possibility in a dynamic dance titled “Dreams Come True”; Grade 9 paid tribute to dream-chasers from all walks of life and pushed beyond limits with firm resolve; Grades 10 and 11 presented world maps and pennants of renowned schools, proclaiming ambitions to go global and pursue excellence. Each formation was thoughtfully designed and together painted a moving portrait of education at Dingwen.
As the starter’s pistol cracked across the sky, the Dingwen Academy Hangzhou 2025–26 Sports Day officially began — “Endless Dreams, Limitless Motion”!

II. Individual Events — Personal Breakthroughs
The morning’s individual events provided a stage for personal grit and determination.
On the track, events ranged from explosive 50m sprints to the endurance test of the 1500m. Every arm swing and breath was a challenge to personal limits. Tensed muscles, pumping arms, and determined gazes wrote youthful poems of speed and power across the lanes.

Field events were equally thrilling: standing long jump arcs traced graceful trajectories, while the throwing area became a showcase of strength and technique, drawing cheers. The novelty-event zones were full of laughter and joy: disc-throwing demanded concentration, obstacle courses displayed nimble movement, jump-rope routines kept perfect rhythm, and the spoon-and-egg relay tested delicate balance — each event magnified the pleasure of play.

III. Moments of Unity — Team Relays
The afternoon brought tests of both speed and teamwork with school relays.
The Primary School relays charmed the crowd with cute yet energetic exchanges: little runners gripping batons produced bursts of big energy and resolute looks. The Middle & High School 4×100m relays dialed the excitement to a fever pitch — each handover held everyone’s breath, embodying not only a race for speed but the ultimate transfer of trust and tacit understanding.

IV. Playful Carnival — A Sea of Joy
Before the dust of the relays had settled, an even larger sea of joy swept the field — the whole-school fun events began. In that moment, sport returned to its purest essence: delight. Students, teachers, and parents all became protagonists of the carnival.

Primary-school zones of kangaroo hop and tag-style games overflowed with laughter. Children bounced in colorful sacks or darted and dodged with innocent glee, their smiles contagious to every spectator. Middle-school flag-capture and high-school assault-the-flag games tested strategy and collaboration as teams planned, delegated, and seized opportunities — a vivid display of cooperation in action.

Bubble soccer generated endless laughter. Students donned transparent inflatable bubbles and became human bumper-cars; the inclusion of faculty–parent mixed teams raised the fun level, making every bump and tumble a moment of shared hilarity. The costume run elevated amusement to its peak — students, faculty, and parents dressed in outlandish outfits and raced down the track in a spectacular blend of speed and comedy, earning rounds of applause.

This playful arena was not only a pressure valve but also the best testament to Dingwen’s diverse international community and warm camaraderie.Deep participation from staff and parents turned “home–school community” from an abstract idea into high-fives and laughter on the field.
As the sun sank in molten gold, it cast a tranquil glow over a day of fervent competition. Dingwen Academy Hangzhou’s 2025–26 Sports Day concluded successfully. We trust that the spirit "Endless Dreams, Limitless Motion" — will continue to fuel Dingwen students’ daily learning and life, inspiring them to sprint toward their dreams and crown their passions across the broader arenas of life.
