The University Guidance Center (UGC) at Dingwen Academy Hangzhou supports students in Grades 6–12 with structured, ethical counseling. We focus on accuracy, clarity, and fit. Students learn to plan coursework and testing, research universities, prepare authentic applications, and transition smoothly to university. Our approach reflects the school philosophy: Rooted in China, Globally Competent, and Universally Compassionate.

Weekly UGC Class
Grade themes: Grade 9: Self‑assessment, course planning, study habits, university systems overview.Grade 10: Research skills, testing roadmap, activity documentation and reflection.Grade 11: List strategy, essays, recommendations, interview practice.Grade 12: Submission checks, responding to offers, scholarships, visas, enrollment, and transition.Deliverables: research logs, timeline checklists, draft reviews, and progress checks.
College Fairs
On‑campus briefings by admissions officers and university representatives.Small‑group Q&A on programs, entry criteria, and scholarships.Sessions open to students and parents.
College Applications
Individual advising on requirements, timelines, and application documents.Balanced university lists for major English-taught destinations, including the UK, the US, Canada, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia, and selected European countries.Guidance on personal statements, supplemental essays, portfolios, recommendations, and interviews.Testing plans for IELTS/TOEFL/SAT/ACT; alignment with A Levels/AP/IBDP subject choices.
College Research
How to evaluate academic programs, curricula, graduate outcomes, support services, and campus culture.Understanding entry requirements.Alumni talks and university webinars to inform decisions.
Career Day
Speakers from finance, technology, design, biomedicine, law, public service, and other sectors.Help students understand clear links between majors, skills, and career entry routes.
Parent Workshops
Grade‑by‑grade timelines and updates on destinations and admissions policies.Practical strategies for student well‑being, time management, and family communication.Overview of admissions documents and testing schedules.
